Island of Mauritius

Mauritius is modern, whether you like it or not.

southwest of Curepipe is an attractive area of lakes and nature reserve. La Mare aux Vacoas Reservoir is the largest island in the lake. It is west of the Mare Longue and Tamarin Falls flanked by tanks – the latter named after a series of seven spectacular waterfalls, just north of the lake – in the southern Great Basin. This crater lake, sacred to Hindus, is one of the places of pilgrimage largest in the country.
