Modern Home Décor Solutions
Your home is a reflection of your personal taste and style and the last thing you’d like to be thought of is dated. That doesn’t mean you need to decorate in a contemporary, trendy or even modern style but simply that things which are tired, worn or no longer stylish should be replaced on a regular basis.
Take bedding for example – pillowcases show wear more quickly than sheets and a bedspread or comforter can fade over time or the stitching may give out. Take a moment while cleaning, preferably during daylight hours, and really inspect your bedrooms and bathrooms. Replace any burned out light bulbs and open the drapes or curtains so you can see what you are looking at and take stock of the condition and styling of your belongings.
Perhaps it’s time to replace those pillow shams or switch out a bedspread with a modern bed ensemble. Most bedding today begins with a bed skirt and includes a comforter or quilt and decorative pillow shams. If your bedrooms are cluttered, get organized and invest in some storage solution – bed risers are great for creating additional storage space for items you don’t need to access on a regular basis. A new throw or some toss pillows can also help to liven up a mundane bedroom.
Bathroom décor has changed somewhat over the years and hookless shower curtains are popular, as are curved shower curtain rods which help to create more elbow room in the bath or shower. Take a look online at the major bed and bath store websites to see what’s available in the way of modern bath and shower hardware – you may find that a handheld showerhead or a new shower system is a welcome update.
